telostia jewelry
portal to purpose
The jewellery industry has a problem. Too often, the pieces we love fuel conflict, unsafe working conditions and environmental destruction in the places that gemstones, crystals and metals are mined.
We aim to change that.
We want to help you be an informed crystal consumer so that you can buy jewellery that is in line with your values. We are working to change the industry by demonstrating good practices and advocating for all jewellery makers to do better, so that we can all feel good about using and wearing crystals ethically.
At luxe.zen, our designs start with fine quality, natural raw and polished gemstones, and precious metals that are then finely crafted into jewellery for the modern spirit. Each stone is hand-selected for each piece and carefully set, checked, and polished before making its way to you.
what ethical jewelry means to us at telostia
We sell gemstones and crystals that don’t fund conflict or drive human rights abuses.
Gemstones and precious metals can be found in almost every corner of the world. The high commercial value of these commodities paired with poor legal frameworks and/or enforcement means the industry is a perfect storm for exploitation.
Behind closed doors the sale of gemstones and precious metals funds armed conflict, criminal activity and human trafficking.

We use materials that are mined safely, by miners who earn a fair wage.
Gemstones and precious metals might change hands multiple times along the traditional jewellery supply chain, making it difficult to know the origin story of each piece.
We work with suppliers and organizations directly that offer transparency on working conditions, pay, and environmental sustainability at mining sites.

we give back 3% of profits to non-profits working to support artisanal and small scale miners globally.
For small-scale and artisanal mining operations, access to capital, training and global markets poses a challenge in competing with the traditional gem supply chain.
We donate to not-for-profit organizations working directly with miners and cutters to provide business and safety education, tools, and access to marketplaces.

We use materials extracted with minimal environmental impact, and recycle and upcycle as much as we can.
Extracting gemstones and precious metals can have major environmental impacts for surrounding communities. We believe working with local artisanal and small-scale mining operations ensures long-term sustainability at mining sites.
We believe keeping our production small batch and local allows us to manage the impact our production and fulfillment has on the environment.

change starts with you
Here at telostia, we are proud of our roots and our customers! We continue to work hard in developing our supply network to ensure all of our products are ethically sourced and are dedicated to the cause of educating others.
As our industry continues to grow, we are delighted to see the popularity of crystals increase, as more and more modern spirits integrate crystals into their everyday lifestyle, wellness routines, and personal rituals.
As advocates and educators, we want you to be informed and empowered when you are buying crystals.
When you are armed with the facts and understanding of what 'ethical' means, then you can better navigate what to look for when sourcing or shopping for your crystals.
There is little in the way of fair-trade certification for crystals or transparency in the industry, which makes tracing a crystal difficult - from the time it is mined from the earth to the moment it arrives to you.
If you have purchased a crystal without this knowledge, please do not beat yourself up OR throw out all your crystals. We invite you to continue learning and purchasing with your eyes wide open from here on out. It is our goal for all of us to be informed and continually do better.
You might be thinking, "how can I make an impact in a billion-dollar industry, as one person?"
The good news is that you can! Every decision, every purchase, every social media like, follow, and share can all create awareness and impact the better. This is what our business is all about. We are passionate about educating others on our industry and hope you can help us make a difference.
The ripple effects of each of our everyday acts and decisions can be felt locally and globally. All we can do is stay aware, stay curious, and continue to do better every day.
